On an unseasonably balmy Sunday in early May, horses and riders gathered at SNHDCTA's first ever Spring Fling Dressage show at Oak Rise Farm in Goffstown. Due to the heat, competitors took full advantage of the relaxed dress code, another first for the Club. Claire Smith and Diamond Girl were smashing in zebra print, Sue Yianakopolos and Rain were lovely in turquoise and the Atkinson Riding Academy team was a sea of royal blue, hot pink and white breeches. The most original outfit of the day was Erin Cosgrove and Desert Fox, both decked out in Red Sox gear, complete with a Veritek team jersey! Judge Adam Cropper was not only tolerant of our less-than-traditional attire, but also generous with his comments and scoring. Colored shirts and saddle pads were not the only things that stood out at the show, Felicia Pandelena and her horse Appy of my Eye, rode a beautiful Intro B test, with a score of 72.5%, high score of the day. Coming in with a close second in the Gaited division was Julie Dillon and her Missouri Fox Trotter gelding, Jesse with a 71.5%. Our newly appointed Volunteer Coordinator, Ruth Hooten did a tremendous job lining up a hard-working volunteer team. Everything from parking to scoring went smoothly. Huge thanks to Anne Lamoriello, Mary Marshall, Laura Derick, Lydia and Torey Neusch, Claire Smith, Debi Barka and Dawn Marier for their awesome volunteer efforts. We also send out a big thank you to everyone else who pitched in to take down the arena at days end. A special note of thanks goes to Sue and Bob Yianakopolos for generously donating the use of Oak Rise Farm for the show.
